About Ghent2030

Ghent wants to become the European Capital of Culture to find energy through culture to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow.

For the cultural programma, three artistic lines are being put forward. These feel quintessentially "Ghent" but are also very European.

The cultural activities for Ghent2030 are not yet set in stone. We will work on the programme together in the coming years!

We are starting with 'toopen': dynamic workshops where we will create our programme together.

A values framework provides direction for the choices of Ghent2030.

Europe has been awarding annual Capitals of Culture since 1985. In 2030, it will be a Belgian city's turn!
